The Getting Started guide walks you through how Seaside Buddy works, what to put in each strategy field, and a complete worked example. About 10 minutes, and it is what makes your AI Summary genuinely useful.
AI Summary says "no key / invalid key": open ⚙ Setup → API Keys and paste a fresh key from your provider.
Your AI provider is out of credit: top up at console.anthropic.com (or platform.openai.com). Your AI usage is billed by your provider, not by SeasideBuddy.
Data looks stale: upload your latest master file, or wait for the next scheduled refresh.
Signed in on a new computer: your keys and strategy follow your login automatically.
⚙ SeasideBuddy Setup
Setup progress0 of 4 required complete
👋 Welcome to SeasideBuddy
Let's get your dashboard connected. Add your AI key below, then your business name and strategy on the Brand & Strategy tab. About 5 minutes. New to Seaside Buddy? 📖 Read the Getting Started guide first.
Where your keys are stored
🔒 Stored securely on the SeasideBuddy server
Your API key is encrypted and saved to your account. It is never kept in this
browser and never shown again. It follows your login on any computer. To replace
it later, just paste a new key here and save.
Skip if you don't use Kit. Other newsletter platforms can use the Master Template upload (coming in Chunk 3).
Brand & Strategy tells the AI how to think about your business: your positioning, your buyer, your voice. The minimum is your name and company, and you can refine the rest over time. Not sure what to write? Open the 📖 Getting Started guide (in Help) for a field-by-field walkthrough with examples.
Identity (required minimum)
✗
Your name *
Used in AI prompts to address you directly.
✗
Company name *
Used in dashboard headers and AI prompts.
○
Booking URL (recommended)
Your Calendly, Cal.com, SavvyCal, or other booking link. Used in CTAs.
○
Your domain (optional)
Used for GA4 referral filtering and page-title cleanup.
○
Master positioning sentence (recommended)
Appears at top of the weekly AI Summary as your brand anchor.
Your Strategy (what the AI analyzes against)
Fill in the pieces that fit your business. Each field powers a specific part of your weekly AI Summary, so the more you provide, the sharper and more personal the analysis. Blank fields are simply skipped, so start with what you know.
✨ Draft with AI (optional shortcut)
Give your AI anything about your business and it fills the fields below for you. Type a few sentences in the box, or upload a file, then click Draft my strategy. If your text is one big block, the AI splits it into the separate fields. Already have your strategy in "Anything else" below? Just click Draft my strategy with the box empty, and the AI will organize it into the fields above for you. Accepted files: .txt, .md, Word .docx, or a .json backup / strategy file.
How to use this: the AI writes a first draft from what you give it. It is a starting point, not the final word, so read every field below and edit anything that is not quite you. When it looks right, click Save & Start at the bottom so your strategy is saved to your account and loads automatically the next time you open the dashboard. You can also use Download Backup to keep a copy, adjust it offline, and upload it again later. Drafting uses your own AI key (a few cents).
○ Who is your buyer? (your ideal client)
→ Powers the audience-buyer match check: is your content pulling your actual buyer, or the wrong crowd?
○ Your content pillars (the themes you post about)
→ Powers pillar attribution: which theme actually drives bookings vs. just engagement.
→ Powers the weekly action moves and keeps every recommendation pointed at one CTA.
○ Voice & language rules (how you sound)
→ Powers the voice-drift check: flags posts that stray off your brand voice.
○ Triggering events (buying signals to flag)
→ The AI flags these whenever they appear in your engagers — your Tier-1 outreach list.
○ Who to disqualify (who you DON'T want)
→ The AI subtracts these from your "wins" so vanity engagement doesn't look like success.
○ Anything else (optional)
Free-form overflow for anything the fields above don't capture.

Conversion Funnel — The Real Story
Session → engaged → booking page → Calendly click
How to read this funnel
Stage: each step a visitor passes through, from arriving on the site to clicking through to Calendly.
Volume: bar shows how many people made it to that stage in the current period. Wider bar means more people.
Stage Drop: percent of people who left between this stage and the previous stage. -48% means almost half the people from the prior stage did not continue to this one.
Prior Count: how many people made it to this stage in the comparison period. Defaults to the prior 30 days when looking at last 30 days.
Prior Drop: the same stage drop, but for the prior period. Use this for an apples-to-apples leak comparison.
Vs Prior: percent change in count vs prior period. -39% means 39% fewer people reached this stage.
Drop Variance: change in stage leak rate vs prior period. Tighter Npp means the stage converts better than before. Leakier Npp means worse.
For diagnosis of why a stage got leakier, click ⚡ AI Summary at the top. It cross-references sources, top pages, and pillars to surface the likely cause.

💼 LinkedIn — Top of Funnel
What's working · Where you're leaking · What to do this week · Period controlled by global selector at top
📖 How to read this tab — what each metric means
▼
⭐ Zone 1 — What's Working · Top performers in the selected period.
Top Channel — which audience (Personal Feed / Newsletter / Company Page) has the highest decision-maker %. The "1308 decision-makers (45%)" means 45% of the channel's audience is CXO/Director/Owner/VP/Partner.
Top Pillar — your strongest content theme by Quality Score (formula below).
Top Content Type — best-performing subtopic by avg impressions.
Engagement Quality — average per post for Saves, Sends, Reposts. "Saves 5.1" = 5 people on average saved each post. Saves & Sends are the strongest buyer-intent signals (someone bookmarking or DMing your post to a colleague).
🔴 Zone 2 — Where You're Leaking · The funnel shows the biggest drop-off stage between Impressions → Profile Views → Website → Booking Page → Calendly Click.
Bars use a square-root scale so tiny stages stay visible next to a 97K Impressions bar — read the numbers for exact magnitudes.
conv % = stage-over-stage conversion (e.g. 0.15% PV/Imp = 15 profile views per 10 000 impressions). Industry benchmarks live in the red banner above the funnel.
📋 Zone 3 — Do This Week · The top 3 actions auto-generated from leaks & opportunities. Synced with the Action Plan tab.
📊 Drill In Appendix · Raw metrics, scoring details, newsletter/company breakdowns. Tiles with a SNAPSHOT badge are point-in-time readings (e.g. current subscriber count) — they don't move with the period selector by design.
Pillar Mix vs Target — what % of your posts went to each pillar vs your editorial target. Use it to check you're not over-indexing on one theme.
Pillar Performance — Qualified Audience Only — Quality Score per pillar, ideally restricted to posts where ≥50% of viewers are decision-makers. If per-post viewer demographics aren't in your data, the cards fall back to the Engagement Score formula: (sends×10 + saves×5 + reposts×4 + comments×2 + profile_viewers×1 + reactions×0.5) ÷ impressions × 1000. Same weights as Quality Score, but divides by total impressions instead of qualified-only impressions. Same bands: 🟢 Strong ≥10 · 🟡 OK 4–10 · 🔴 Weak <4.
ICP Fit (Newsletter Detail) — your Newsletter audience composition vs your Personal Feed across 4 dimensions (Owner %, CXO+Director+VP+Owner, ICP Industries, Target Company Size). The newsletter should over-index green on every dimension. Decision-maker % is computed from the seniority bucket if present, otherwise from job titles (Founder, Owner, CEO/CFO/COO, Director, VP, Partner, etc.).
Top Posts columns — Imp = impressions · React = reactions · Comm = comments · Rep = reposts/shares · Saves / Sends / PV = saves, DMs of post, profile views — these last three only populate from the deep per-post analytics XLSX (greyed out means "no data available," not zero).
📎 How to add UTM tracking to your booking link
Calendly attribution is best-effort without UTMs. To make the funnel's "Calendly Bookings" stage genuinely LinkedIn-attributed, append UTM parameters to the booking URL you put in your LinkedIn profile, posts, and newsletter editions:
utm_medium = profile (featured link), post (in-post CTA), newsletter, company-page
utm_campaign = a short slug for the campaign (e.g. discovery-call, expertise-q2)
Calendly automatically captures UTM parameters as "Source" on each booking — those land in the export's UTM Source / UTM Campaign columns and feed the funnel's LinkedIn-attribution sub-line. Use a different utm_source per channel (linkedin, newsletter, youtube) so attribution is unambiguous.

📊 ICP Fit — LinkedIn Newsletter Subscribers vs LinkedIn Feed Audience
📧 LI-NL = your LinkedIn Newsletter subscribers (chose to subscribe on LinkedIn → higher commitment). 👤 Feed = your Personal LinkedIn Feed audience (people who reacted/commented on your regular posts). Kit subscribers are a separate list — see the Kit Newsletter tab.
LinkedIn Newsletter SHOULD over-index green vs Feed on every dimension — subscribing is a higher-intent action than scrolling past.

📉 Subscriber Composition Drift
⚠️ Forward-tracking only · Data begins May 2026
How to read: Each dot is a seniority bucket's share of subscribers at that snapshot date. With only 1 snapshot you see 4 dots (one per bucket); the trend line appears once you log a 2nd monthly snapshot.
The values don't sum to 100% because LinkedIn only exposes the top 4–5 seniority categories — anything outside the named buckets is rolled into the gray Other dot. The drift line tells you whether your audience is shifting toward more decision-makers (Decision-Makers ↑ = good) or away from them (Decision-Makers ↓ = audience getting less qualified).
